CHERRY PINEAPPLE EASTER HAM | |
smoked ham (bone in tastes best!) 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple rings (reserve juice) 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries (reserve juice) 1/2 cup brown sugar whole cloves Score or puncture ham with knife or meat fork. Place pineapple rings around on top. Place cherries in center of rings. Secure with cloves. May need toothpicks too if skin is thick! In a saucepan make a mixture of pineapple and cherry juice. Add handful of brown sugar. Heat slightly until sugar dissolves and pour all over ham. Bake ham at 325°F according to package directions for your ham (cooked: 140°F internal temp.; uncooked: 160°F) - about 2 to 3 hours depending on size. Note: Use of a meat thermometer is recommended. Variation: May place ham in Brown-in-a-Bag (Reynold's Oven bag). It really keeps the moisture in! Submitted by: Elizabeth Williams |
