LIME PICKLES 
7 lb. cucumbers
2 gallons water
2 c. dry household lime
3 qt. vinegar
4 lb. sugar
3 tsp. salt
1/2 box pickling spices

Mix lime and water in crock or glass container. Do not use metal container. Add cucumbers and soak for 24 hours. Wash thoroughly in cold water until water is clear. Mix 4 pounds sugar, 3 quarts vinegar, salt, and pickling spices. Bring to a boil and add cucumbers and simmer 2 hours or until they turn clear. Pack and seal in jars while hot.
