CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES 
1 egg
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder

Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and baking powder into bowl. Make a pocket in each side of bowl; place egg in one pocket and shortening in other. Pour hot water over shortening and start mixing slowly until all is blended. Add milk and vanilla. Blend. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 12 cupcakes.
