CHESS SQUARES 
1 (18 1/2 oz.) box butter cake mix
1 stick butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. nuts, chopped

Combine these ingredients and press in bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan.

TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 eggs
1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat with electric mixer until blended. Pour over cake mixture. Bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
