PEANUT BUTTER CRISSCROSSES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. peanut butter
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir peanut butter. Sift in flour, soda and salt to cream mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of floured fork to make crisscross. Bake in moderate oven (350) about 10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.
