2 lg. cans dark red Joan of Arc kidney beans 2 lg. cans tomato puree Brown 2 pounds ground chuck in skillet with 4 large onions, cut up; drain well. Add to beans and puree. Add 3 cups water. Add salt about 1 1/2 tablespoons to taste. Add sugar (2 teaspoons. Add 4 tablespoons Durkee chili powder. Let simmer all day and ready to eat. Even better 2nd day. This feeds a large family. If small family use less ingredients. |
