WHITE CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/3 c. white chocolate cut in sm. pieces
1/2 c. hot water
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks, unbeaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Melt white chocolate in hot water, cool. Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add melted chocolate and vanilla.

Sift flour, soda and add alternately with buttermilk. Gently fold in egg whites. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9 inch pans. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
6 tbsp. evaporated milk
1/4 c. butter
2 c. white chocolate, cut in pieces
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Slivered almonds or nuts for garnish, if desired
