2 oz. unsweetened chocolate 1/4 c. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs, unbeaten (or 4 egg whites, less fat) 1/8 tsp. salt 1/2 c. pastry or all purpose flour 1/2 c. walnut meats, cut into pieces (opt.) 1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Microwave the butter and chocolate at medium low power for about 1 minute. A little longer if needed to melt. Stir in all other ingredients. Spread in a buttered 9"x9" pan. Bake until dry on top and almost firm to tough, 30 to 35 minutes. Turn upside down on cooling rack. Cool. Cut into squares. |
