CARAMEL CORN | |
7 to 8 qts. popped popcorn In a heavy pan, boil for 5 minutes: 2 c. brown sugar 1/2 lb. butter 1/2 c. white corn syrup Remove from heat and add: 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda (this will make the mixture froth) Mix well. Combine: 20 oz. salted peanuts with popcorn Pour caramel syrup over popcorn-peanut mixture, mixing well. Bake 30 minutes at 250 degrees, stirring occasionally. Spread on a sheet of waxed paper and cool. Store in an airtight container. This makes a turkey roasting pan full. |
