LACE COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1 c. brown sugar (dark)
1 egg
2 heaping tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans or black walnuts

Cream butter, add sugar and mix thoroughly. Add egg and again beat thoroughly. Stir in flour and flavoring. Lightly fold in nuts. Drop by half teaspoonful on very lightly greased cookie sheet - at least three inches apart. Bake in slow oven at 275 degrees until they begin to brown, then let them cool on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes before removing each one separately with a spatula.
