PLUM, PEACH OR APPLE CAKE 
For cake batter:

4 1/2 full c. flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 full c. sugar
4 eggs
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. Crisco
3/4 c. milk
Fruit of your choice

FOR THE CRUMBS:

2 heaping c. of cake batter
Cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter
Heaping tsp. sugar

Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, butter and Crisco by hand with pastry blender. Take out 2 heaping cups of this mix for crumbs. To this add cinnamon to taste preference, butter and sugar noted above. To cake batter mix add 4 eggs and milk blending by hand. Sugar fruit to taste. Line a low cake pan (any shape) with silver foil. Put cake batter in bottom of pan (about 1/2 inch thick) add sugared fruit, and cover with a topping of crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes (cake tester in batter area should come out clean). Cool on rack and remove from pan. Drizzle on top of cake a thin icing when cakes are cold. Milk and 10x powdered sugar icing or other thin icing mixture. Makes 2 or 3 pans, depending on size of pan.
