1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
2 c. chopped nuts
1 lb. chopped orange slice candy
1/2 lbs. chopped dates
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 can angel flake coconut

Take 2 cups flour, roll candy, nuts and dates in flour. Cream butter, sugar, salt. Add eggs, beating after each. Add milk alternately with flour mixture. Add remaining ingredients. Bake in tube pan at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Will keep for weeks in refrigerator.
