MEAT BALL STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
3/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. burgundy wine (optional)
1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 tbsp. chopped pimentos
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 bay leaf
3/4 c. cooked, cubed potatoes
3/4 c. carrots
1/2 c. chopped celery

Combine ground chuck, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and bread crumbs. Shape into small balls and brown in hot oil. Add other ingredients and cook on top of range for 30 minutes at simmering.
