1 yellow cake 1 c. milk 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco 1 tsp. vanilla 5 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter Bake yellow cake in a 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan and cool. Blend milk and flour together. Pour into saucepan. Cook over low heat until the consistency of library paste. Set aside to cool. Beat until fluffy. Add the other ingredients, one at a time, beating on high speed of mixer. Beat well as you add each ingredients. This takes about 5 minutes. Put between split layers of yellow cake (split cake in half with a thread). Let stand at least one day to develop flavor. Keep refrigerated. |
