OLD FASHIONED BAKED BEANS 
2 c. Great Northern beans
5 c. water
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 thick slices salt pork or bacon
1/4 c. molasses
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 c. ketchup
3/4 to 1 cup bean liquid

Soak beans in bean pot overnight (10 hours). Drain beans. Add seasonings and bean liquid. Blend well. Arrange a few slices of met on top of beans.

Cover and cook 1 to 2 hours before serving.

Makes about 2 quarts.
