CANDYLAND CHRISTMAS TRAIN | |
1 (13x9") baked chocolate cake 2 c. creamy chocolate frosting Assorted candies, animal cookies & cereal for decorations To cut the cake into cars, first cut the cake in half the long way. Then cut the cake the short way into 6 equal rows to form 12 rectangles. Cut one of these rectangles in half the short way. Then, to make frosting the cake easier, let the cut cake stand for 1-2 hours or until the edges are slightly dry. Frost the sides and the top of each piece of cake with the chocolate frosting. For the engine, attach one of the smaller pieces atop the end of one larger piece, smoothing and joining with more frosting. For the caboose, attach the remaining smaller piece atop the center of a larger piece, smoothing and joining with more frosting. Store. Just before serving, with assorted candies, animal cookies, and cereal, decorate sides and tops of frosted cake pieces using a different decoration for each. Attach round candies to sides of cake pieces for wheels. If you like, make a train track using shoestring licorice and licorice sticks. Makes 12 servings. |
