APPLE MYSTERY DESSERT 
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
3 c. sliced apples
1/2 c. sugar plus 1/4 c.
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 (18 1/2 oz.) box yellow cake mix
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9x13x2 inch baking dish. Pour canned crushed pineapple into dish. Toss together apples, sugar and lemon juice and space on top of the pineapple. Sprinkle this with dry cake mix. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar and nuts on top. Bake 20 minutes, then cut with a knife to allow juices to rise to the top. Bake 30 minutes longer.
