OLD FASHIONED CORN CHOWDER 
2 c. cream-style corn
4 lg. potatoes, sliced
2 sm. onions, chopped
2 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
3 c. scalded milk
3 tbsp. butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1/8 lb. salt pork of 1/8 lb. of bacon

Cut salt pork into small pieces and saute with onions in butter. If bacon is used, fry to a crisp, break into pieces, and add after chowder is cooked. Add flour to pan, stir often. Do not burn. Add potatoes and water. Cook until potatoes are tender. Add corn and milk, cook 5 minutes. Season to taste. use more water, milk, or flour as desired.
