OVEN BEEF STEW | |
About 5 lb. chuck roast or other beef, cubed 6 or 7 potatoes, cut in small chunks 3 onions, cut in small chunks 1 stalk celery, cut in small pieces 1 pkg. carrots, cut in pieces 2 parsnips (if you like them) 1 or 2 green peppers, cut in strips 1 can mushroom soup, undiluted 1 qt. can tomatoes 3 tbsp. tapioca Brown meat. Place in roaster. Place vegetables in roaster. Pour mushroom sauce and tomatoes over all. Sprinkle tapioca and all. Cook 3 hours at 350 degrees or 4 hours at 250 degrees. After about 1 1/2 hours cooking time, check to be sure tapioca is absorbed. |
