BANANA CAKE 
2 c. cake flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sour milk (1/2 c. milk & 1 tbsp. vinegar)
1 c. mashed bananas
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lg. egg

Sift dry ingredients. To the mashed bananas, add egg, shortening and vanilla. Add half of dry ingredients and mix. Add the other half of dry ingredients and milk, beat. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

FROSTING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine flour and milk in shaker. Shake well. Place mixture in saucepan over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is thick. Cool flour and milk mixture. Meanwhile, beat sugar, shortening and butter until creamy. Add flour paste and vanilla. Beat until creamy smooth.
