OATMEAL PRALINE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oats
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 9 x 2 inch or 9 x 13 inch pan.

Combine oats, water and soak 40 minutes. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. In separate bowl, on medium speed, cream butter. Gradually add sugar and brown sugar, beating until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat until fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Add oats. Beat in flour. Pour into pan and bake 50 minutes or until center springs back. Add topping and bake 10 minutes more or until golden brown.

TOPPING:

3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. light brown sugar
3/4 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 egg
3 tbsp. milk

Combine topping ingredients and cook over stove.
