ORANGE MARMALADE BREAD | |
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg, beaten 1/2 c. thick orange marmalade 1/4 c. white (distilled) vinegar 1 c. sweet milk 2 tbsp. shortening, melted 1. Sift flour, baking soda, salt and sugar together. 2. Combine egg thoroughly with marmalade; then stir in vinegar, milk, and shortening. 3. Pour liquid ingredients all at once into dry ingredients and stir until blended but not until smooth. 4. Pour into greased 9 by 5 by 3 inch loaf pan. 5. Bake at 350 degrees F. (moderate oven) for 1 hour. |
