PENUCHE ICING 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. milk
3/8 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. vanilla

Bring sugar, milk, shortening and salt to a boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Beat until lukewarm. Add vanilla. Continue to beat until thick enough to spread. This is excellent on chocolate cake, or spice cake.
