1 pkg. yellow cake mix, minus 2/3 c., reserved for filling

Mix cake mix with 1/2 cup butter and 1 egg. Push into 13"x9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until light brown.

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Blend in bowl until custard-like, pour over baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans or black walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour.
