JEWISH HONEY CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. honey
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. strong coffee plus 3 tbsp.
3 c. flour plus 3 tbsp.
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. white raisins
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add honey, eggs and coffee. Sift together rest of ingredients and add to liquid mixture. Mix well and add raisins and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. This burns easily, so check it frequently. Pans should be greased and floured before putting in batter. Makes 1 large or 4 small loaves.
