1 c. flour
1/4 c. salt
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 c. water
1 tbsp. cooking oil
Food coloring

Combine dry ingredients in saucepan. Add water and oil. Cook over medium heat. As mixture cooks, add coloring to desired shade. When firm ball forms, turn onto floured surface.

Cool slightly and then knead in flour until smooth and firm. Keeps indefinitely in an airtight container.
