MASTER MIX 
1/3 c. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
9 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. shortening

Sift baking powder, salt, sugar and cream of tartar into flour. Sift together two times into large mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like cornmeal. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature. Will keep for 6 weeks. Pile master mix into cup lightly and level with knife to measure. Yields 13 cups. Use like Bisquick.
