OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
2 lg. or 3 sm. eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Let stand 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and butter. Stir until butter melts. Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add about 1/2 of chocolate chips. Pour into greased and floured pan. Sprinkle with nuts and remaining chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Use 9 x 13 inch pan. Absolutely delicious!
