MINER'S PAN BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. corn meal (opt.)
3 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. brown sugar or molasses

Put all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and add enough water to make the dough stiff and not too sticky. Pat the dough into little cakes about a quarter of an inch thick and fry in hot bacon grease on both sides until they are golden brown.
