OVERNIGHT DATE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

FILLING:

1 lb. dates, chopped
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water

Boil dates with the sugar and water until thick. Let cool.

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, flour and the remaining dry ingredients. Stir. Roll out the dough, spread with the date filling mixture, then roll up. Refrigerate overnight. Slice and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
