1 c. flour
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts, optional
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. cocoa
1 3/4 c. hottest tap water

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tbsp. cocoa, the baking powder and salt in ungreased square pan 9x9x2 inches. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread in pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Pour hot water over batter. Bake 40 minutes. While warm, spoon into dessert dishes and top with ice cream. Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving.
