AUNT CECELIA'S APPLESAUCE RAISIN
BREAD
 
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. nuts, optional
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. applesauce
3/4 tsp. salt
1 - 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 - 1 tsp. nutmeg
Powdered sugar

Combine egg, applesauce, butter and sugars. Blend well. Stir in flour, soda, salt, baking powder and spices. Stir until smooth. Stir in raisins and nuts.

Turn batter into a well greased 9 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool and frost with a dusting of powdered sugar - also good without.
