LUSCIOUS STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with a fork or pastry blender. Beat 2 eggs. Blend in 1/2 cup milk. Add all at once to flour mixture. Stir just until all the flour is moistened. Spread evenly in a well greased 8" round pan. Bake in a very hot oven, 450 degrees, until the short cake is crusty and golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Can be cut into biscuits. Makes about 30.
