BLEND OF THE BAYOU | |
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 stick butter 1 lb. shrimp, peeled 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 bell pepper, chopped 2 ribs celery, chopped 2 tbsp. butter 1 can golden mushroom soup 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 tsp. garlic salt 1 tsp. tabasco 1/2 tsp. red pepper 1 pt. crab meat 1 1/2 c. rice, cooked Cracker crumbs Sharp cheese, grated Melt cream cheese and butter using double-boiler or microwave. Saute shrimp, onion, bell pepper and celery in 2 tablespoons butter. Add to the first mixture, then add shrimp, mushrooms, seasonings, crab meat and rice. Mix well. Place in 2-quart casserole. Top with cheese and cracker crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes until bubbly. Freezes well. Serves 10 to 12. |
