HAMBURGER-DUMPLING SKILLET
CASSEROLE
 
1 medium onion
1 and 1/2 pound hamburger
2 quarts tomatoes
1 pound frozen corn
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons chili powder

Dumplings:

1 and 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup milk

Chop onion and brown in skillet with hamburger, drain. Add tomatoes, corn, and seasonings, and bring to a boil. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Lightly stir in milk. Drop dumplings by spoonful onto casserole. Cook 10 minutes with skillet uncovered, and 10 minutes tightly covered.
