BAVARIAN ALMOND APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. flour
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

TOPPING:

4 c. peeled, sliced apples
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. apricot preserves
2 tbsp. water

Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, flour, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Pat into the bottom and up the sides of a 10 inch springform pan. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 5 minutes. Cool 5 minutes.

Filling: In a mixing bowl combine cheese, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into partially cooled crust.

Topping: Toss apple slices in sugar and cinnamon. Place on cheese filling. Top with sliced almonds. Bake in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until apples test done. Cool. When cool, melt apricot preserves with a little water and brush over the top of the torte to give it a high glaze. Enjoy!
