ONE DISH CHICKEN AND GRAVY | |
1 frying chicken pieces (3-3 1/2 lb.) 1/4 c. flour 1/4 c. melted butter 8-10 sm. cooked onions 1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms 2/3 c. undiluted evaporated milk 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup 1 c. grated processed cheese 3/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Flour chicken, place skin side down in melted butter in 2 quart shallow baking dish. Bake uncovered at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. Turn chicken and bake 15-20 minutes longer, until tender. Pour off excess fat, add onions and mushrooms. Mix milk, soup, cheese, salt and pepper. Pour over chicken. Sprinkle with paprika if desired. Cover dish with foil and bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes. |
