WINE-GLAZED HAM | |
1 (1 inch thick) slice precooked ham 12 whole cloves 2 tbsp. prepared mustard 1/3 to 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. port, Muscatel or Tokay (I use Galilio white Rhine) Cut slashes into ham fat about 1 inch apart. Stud fat with cloves. Place ham in an open roasting pan and heat thoroughly at 350 degrees. Allow 20 minutes for heating. Remove ham from oven, spread with mustard and sugar. Raise to 400 degrees. Return ham to oven and allow 15-20 minutes for glazing. Spoon the wine over the ham at intervals during the glazing period. NOTE: For regular smoked ham, bake 25-30 minutes per pound at 325 degrees before glazing. |
