MANDARIN TOSSED SALAD 
1/2 c. sliced almonds
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 head Romaine lettuce
1 c. chopped celery
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained

DRESSING:

1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. white vinegar
1/8 tsp. Tabasco sauce

In a small pan over low/medium heat, cook almonds until all coated and sugar dissolves. Cool and store in airtight container. Mix all dressing ingredients and chill. Mix lettuces and celery. Just before serving, add almonds and mandarin oranges. Toss with the dressing.

Variation: Add 2 chopped green onions.
