In large bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 package active dry yeast; set aside. In saucepan heat 1 1/4 cups sweet milk, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup shortening and 1 teaspoon salt. Heat milk mixture to warm, stirring until all is melted. Add to dry ingredients in bowl. Add 1 egg then beat at low speed 1/2 minute, scraping sides of bowl constantly. Then beat 3 minutes at high speed. By hand stir in 2-2 1/4 cups flour to make soft dough. Cover, set in refrigerator for 2 hours or until ready to use. Will keep 4-5 days in refrigerator and can be used a little at a time.
