CINNAMON APPLES 
1 c. sugar (can use less)
2 c. water
1/2 c. cinnamon candy (red hots)

Bring these 3 ingredients to a boil in a 2 quart saucepan. Add sliced, peeled apples. Use about 8 apples. You want enough syrup to cover them. Cook just until apples are tender when stuck with a fork (5 to 7 minutes). Can add red food coloring, but they get redder as they stand. They can be frozen or keep almost indefinately in the refrigerator. Use apples that don't cook to pieces.
