HOLIDAY DATE BALLS 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
2 c. finely ground pecans
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
Powdered sugar

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add flour and mix lightly. Add pecans and dates, mix until well blended.

Shape dough into balls using a heaping teaspoon for each. Chill for an hour or two.

Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Roll immediately in powered sugar. Cool, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
