MIRLITON CHEZ SOIS | |
6 mirlitons 1 clove garlic, minced 1 onion, chopped 1/2 c. bread crumbs 1 tbsp. shallots, minced 1 c. minced ham or shrimp Salt & pepper to taste Worcestershire sauce Place mirlitons in large pot of cold water and boil until tender, about 30 minutes; drain. Cut in halves and remove white seed center and scoop meat from shells; set shells aside. Saute onion and garlic in small amount of oil; add ham or shrimp. Mix well. Then add scrapings from the mirlitons and shallots and cook for 15 minutes. Stuff shells with mixture or place in greased casserole. Top with bread crumbs, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired and melted butter. Be sure that you have added enough salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce to give flavor to the meat mixture. Place in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes until heated through or run under broiler. |
