BARBECUED BEEF 
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
2 thin slices onion
1 tsp. chili powder
3 lb. beef (rump)
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Dash of cayenne
1-2 slices green pepper
Salt and pepper

Stir together tomato sauce, water, and vinegar. Add sugar, onion, chili powder, salt, pepper, cayenne, and green pepper. Cook slowly until thick as ketchup. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper, cover with sauce. Place in roasting pan. Roast at 475 degrees about 20 minutes or until brown. Reduce heat to 325 degrees. Add enough water to bottom of roasting pan; cover. Cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Serves 6-8.
