1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Pinch of salt

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs and milk. Stir in sifted flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. Dip glass in sugar and mash dough thin with bottom of glass. Bake in 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
