4 lb. ground chuck 1 tsp. garlic powder 4 tbsp. dry minced onion 1 tbsp. paprika 4 tbsp. chili powder 1/2 tbsp. oregano 1 1/2 tbsp. cumin powder 1/2 tbsp. black pepper Dash red pepper to taste 4 tsp. salt 6 tbsp. sugar 2 lg. bay leaves 4 tbsp. flour 4 c. water 2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes 2 (29 oz.) cans tomato sauce 4 c. cooked pinto beans 3 (1 oz.) cubes of unsweetened chocolate Brown beef; drain. Add all but flour, water, beans and chocoalte. Simmer for one hour. Mix flour and water and add to beef mixture along with beans and chocoalte. Simmer for at least one more hour but longer is better. Remove bay leaves which are not edible and serve with Cheddar cheese crumbled on top. |
