BROWN MOUNTAIN CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. warm water

Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla and warm water.

Bake in lightly greased and floured 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
