1 lb. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream together the butter and shortening together. Add sugar and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add vanilla. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Bake in a tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

ICING:

1/4 c. butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and chocolate together. Stir in sugar and vanilla and cream to spread.
