MURIEL'S SAUCY STEAK 
2 1/2 to 3 lb. beef round steak cut 1/2 inch thick
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. melted shortening
1 can (10 1/2 oz.) condensed onion soup
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. chili sauce

Cut round steak into serving pieces. Pound to 1/4 inch thickness.

Combine flour, salt and pepper. Coat pieces with seasoned flour. Brown in shortening. Pour off drippings. Add onion soup, water, celery seed and chili sauce. Cover pan tightly and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
