CONNIE'S NEVER FAIL REFRIGERATOR ROLLS | |
6 cups sifted all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup shortening 2 yeast cakes (or equivalent) 1 tsp. salt Measure 6 cups of sifted flour. Combine milk, sugar and shortening in saucepan; scald, but do not boil. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast cakes and let stand 5 to 10 minutes, then stir until dissolved. Add salt. Gradually beat in the sifted flour. Turn out on floured board and knead gently until smooth. Place dough in greased bowl; cover and let rise in warm place (80°F to 85°F) until double in size. |
